Tomorrow I receive a long awaited package from the Peace Corps.
For nearly five months the cogs of the Peace Corps application process have slowly turned, providing me precious little in the way of information or encouragement. Now, finally, I am able to get at least a vague idea as to what the next 2 years of my life will be like.
This is extremely gratifying.

Hi Oliver,
Hey, a real live Blog, and I am the first one to comment on it! Way cool.
South Africa will be fascinating. It all sounds exciting, except that part about learning Zulu. I am sure you will master it once you put your mind to it.
Will you be taking your bike to Africa? I understand that it's a great way to get around over there. In fact, so many people walk, walk, walk everywhere that a bike it is considered by some to be a great luxury. I help out at a bike coop in Chicago that fixes up donated or discarded bikes, sells them and then uses the money to ship other bikes to Africa. And a friend of my runs and organization that ships containers full of books to Africa. So much need!
We are all anxiously awaiting your postings! Cheers, Greg
